Welsh harpist Megan Morris is a graduate from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and is in demand across South Wales for weddings, events and community projects. Born in the Vale of Glamorgan and now based in Llantrisant, Megan attended a Welsh medium primary school where she started learning the harp at the age of 8. 

 

​Megan is an extremely versatile harpist with a very varied portfolio. Megan has most recently, Megan performed on the BBC drama 'Dope Girls' starring Julianne Nicholson. She also taught the harp to main actor Eilidh Fischer who performed on a scene. In 2022, she performed with Canna Quartet at the World Harp Congress in Cardiff, the biggest event in the harp calendar. In 2021, Megan set up a successful partnership (Babis Bach Babies) with fellow RWCMD graduate Ellie Ayling. They run bilingual storytelling and live music sessions for pre-school children across South Wales. (www.babisbachbabies.co.uk) and have worked with The Welsh Parliament, BookTrust and several councils across Wales. Megan also works with Live Music Now and most recently the Lullaby Project, a Carnegie Hall initiative, pairing mothers and babies with musicians to write a lullaby in which they perform and record.  Through the same organisation, which was set up by the famous violinist Yehudi Menuhin, Megan had a one year placement at Ysgol y Deri, delivering music sessions to children with special needs.

  • Performances at the British-Irish Brexit Summit '16 

  • Performances for the Vice Premier of China and the US Ambassador to the United Kingdom during their visits to Cardiff

  • Performances at the Welsh Government's St David's Day Celebrations at Le Bibliothèque Solvay, Brussels and The Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Westminster

  • Performance for HRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge during their visit to Pembrokeshire in 2014

  • Performances for HRH Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall during their St David's Day visit to Cardiff in 2013
